　　个人简介

　　学历: 1975年香港大学社会科学学士(荣誉)、1981年香港大学社会工作硕士、1992年英国雪菲尔大学(Sheffield)哲学博士(社会政策)

　　主要社会参与:1983年创立汇点(议政团体), 并曾任秘书、副主席及评论会主席； 1998年创立香港社会民主基金会；2002年香港特区政府委任为香港青年奖励计划理事会副主席；2003年为重庆市政协委员。

　　工作经验：1975年起曾任社区服务及青少年等基层工作达十三年之久。1989年起出任香港中文大学讲师、1996年副教授、2000年教授。现任英国Journal of Social Policy 海外编辑顾问、美国Social Development Issues评审编辑。

　　研究方向

　　自1989年成为中文大学教员后，一直从事社会政策研究，尤其比较中国与西方的福利制度，如社会保障，贫穷研究。

　　最近的研究是香港中国人的公民身份，分析权利、义务及理想及现实层次的差异。该研究将由香港伸延至台湾，现已获台湾国家科学委员会资助04-06年经费。

　　亦在香港刚完成一项社会福利态度的民意调查，分析福利态度与价值、个人社会背景及政策及政治取态的关系。

　　正在撰写一本美国出版社出版的中国医疗保险改革的书。
